John says, “One of my very first nautical memories as a small child was of sailing (and constantly capsizing!) a Sunfish mini-sail off the beach near Mombasa, Kenya with my father. Nowadays, with an RYA Yachtmaster Ocean qualification under my belt I capsize rather less (!) but still love being in, on, by and under the water, particularly in Croatia and Slovenia. I particularly enjoy making landfall after a bit of offshore sailing and the satisfaction of getting the nuts and bolts of navigation just right." Lynn says, “I spent most of my childhood being dragged screaming from the Irish Sea and stood in front of a fire until I was no longer blue. I still love the sea, although I now spend more time in a warm wetsuit under the water after qualifying as a PADI Divemaster. Having learnt to sail a few years ago in Abel Tasman in New Zealand, I am now just as hooked on sailing." June 2009 saw Boatshed Dalmatia at the first ever Women's Match Race (WMR) in Croatia, held at Marina Frapa in picturesque Rogoznica - it was really great to see women from Portugal, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Austria and Croatia showcase their sailing talents. June also saw the sailing season in Croatia and Slovenia really starting to heat up, with many more sails visible all along the Dalmatian coast and Istria and also in Portorož, Izola and Koper in Slovenia. We have certainly been kept incredibly busy listing boats, with a large number now coming onto the market for end of season sales!
